THE INNER GIRL SPEAKS OUT...
Many thanks to Sammy Fain and Bob Hilliard, who produced this song for Disney's "Alice":
I give myself very good advice,
But I very seldom follow it,
That explains the trouble that I'm always in,
Be patient, is very good advice,
But the waiting makes me curious,
And I'd love the change,
Should something strange begin,
Well I went along my merry way,
And I never stopped to reason,
I should have know there'd be a price to pay,
Someday...someday,
I give myself very good advice,
But I very seldom follow it,
Will I ever learn to do the things I should?
Will I ever learn to do the things I should?
Curious, I've heard you mention her before...does it really feel like an inner "girl" ? I mean I admit we might all have an effeminate side to ourselves, but I never felt there was a girl inside me/my mind etc.
ReplyDeleteO Jaded One:
ReplyDeleteThe Inner Girl made her debut at:

as a "beast of enormous size" and the part of me that fell for Piggo. That experience set off the whole "falling sperm[!] whale" sequence. The IG has re-appeared several times since then, eventually being nailed as "Alice", who famously nearly drowned in her own tears...
The other one to watch out for is probably some aspect of Alice, whom I call the Natural-Born Dyke, who is ready to move in with bag and baggage on the first date -- or in Piggo's case, BEFORE the first date [see "Alice", above]. She first shows up at:

though she debuted in one of my posts to somebody else's blog. Anyone remember where I first labeled myself as the NBD?
They are both just convenient ways of talking about pieces of myself I'm not terribly comfortable with -- just as I continually say "some part of me is gay" rather than "I am bi".
Go figure. Anything else you want to know?

ps: I am so proud of myself for figuring out how to delete messages without leaving the notice that something has come and gone, and of Nate for FIGURING OUT COLOR, even if then used red for rage, which is logical if scary. It's a mad world, my masters.
