TWO out of THREE...

This was meant to be my big chance to find out whether we could spend three weeks together and still be talking to each other when it was over. Well, we did, and we are, so I guess the short answer is: "yes."

It was colder than I had been led to believe, though we did get to the beach once and fried ourselves, which was great. I did spend most of our time together meeting some of his five million friends, but on the whole, it was a wonderful trip. Not cheap, no matter how you slice it, but eminently worthwhile.

What is money for, anyway?

In some ways, it was only two weeks, because I spent the first week of "vacation" sick as a dog, sleeping or in bed most of the day, and feeling about as much fun to be around as an old sponge. Two out of three ain't bad.

On the other hand, the Goat's concern and attentions for that first week put most of the remaining doubts out of my mind, and his attentions once I felt up to it really took care of the rest.

It was three weeks, we're not only talking, but in deeper than ever. In fact on our last night together, I teared up when I realized that I was in fact getting up the following morning to go back to the Weird Little House to spend the next week or two Entirely Alone. We had gotten so used to being together, and having a great time doing it. He bought me a high-grade chocolate bar as a consolation prize...

Love is, as some poor fool once said, a many-splendored thing.

I hope the Easter season was good to you.
More later...
