THIS IS TOO WEIRD...

with apologies to Mr. 4, Mr. 4.38, and Mr. 4.76,
as well as a tip of the hat to my formerly closer neighbor Mr. 2.85...

Klein Sexual Orientation Grid

I scored an average of 3.67

01 2 3 4 5 6
HeterosexualBisexualHomosexual

Meaning
This result can also be related to the Kinsey Scale:
0 = exclusively heterosexual
1 = predominantly heterosexual, incidentally homosexual
2 = predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual
3 = equally heterosexual and homosexual
4 = predominantly homosexual, but more than incidentally heterosexual
5 = predominantly homosexual, incidentally heterosexual
6 = exclusively homosexual

Summary
The idea of this excercise is to understand exactly how dynamic a person's sexual orientation can be, as well as how fluid it can be over a person's lifespan. While a person's number of actual homo/heterosexual encounters may be easy to categorize, their actual orientation may be completely different.
Take the quiz yourself...IF YOU DARE!

My score puzzles me. My first score REALLY puzzled me: it was an even 3, so I figured I must have done SOMETHING wrong, and I went back and took it again...
But even
3.67 comes as a surprise, given that I admitted to continuous same-sex-mostly attraction, continuous same-sex ONLY fantasies, and future behavior as gay mostly. [Hey, it's not a declaration of intent, is it? or is it?] . I gave emotional preference to both sexes all along the way. Social preference is both sexes bracketing other sex mostly. Straight/gay "lifestyle" [roll the tumbrils!] bracket other sex mostly as well. Now here's the kicker: self-identification is "gay mostly" bracketing "straight somewhat more". And I still got a 3.67.
Either I'm denying something, or I'm denying something else...

It's true I defined the time spans a little differently -- but there was no slot for not acting on same-sex attraction for thirty years because of religious conviction, so I divided my time into: pre-conversion, last 30 years, future. I love the fact that what they label "ideal" they then define as the NEXT TWELVE MONTHS! Good grief.

This is obviously something to be chewed over at length, if not exactly passed around with the hors d'oeuvres... I would have expected to land somewhere between 4 and 5. Shows how much I know... And we also know that Kinsey cooked his books to make more people appear to be/have been gay, so I say who the @#%&! knows what's going on, anyway? Beats the shit out of me.

  1. Yeah, I don't necessarily trust it. Part of it maybe what you said. I scored around the same thing (~3.5) and I've been living the gay life exclusively for the last 6 years! If anything, this just shows that it's just grey.

  2. Well, I think that "It Gets Weirder" is the point, but then, that's probably because it's My Point.
